GUNZ REVIEW

Here is a full review of Ijji's GunZ

First off

P.O.V: Third

Graphics: The graphics are alright. Not top of the line. Kind of like Spider Man on the Play Station One. Not really the best out there. The levels somewhat look unfinished and boxy.. Sort of like a painted cardboard box...

Weapons: There are a few weapon combinations to choose from. Guns ranging from Revolvers to Sub Machine guns. Smoke, and Frag Grenades. And a Sword. You'll have the sword no matter what combination of weapons you choose.

Animations: The animations in this game are really repetitive. Sword swinging animations revolve around 3 or 4 animations. Side to side swinging and if you swing in rapid succession it changes to an up and down swinging motion. When running with the sword one hand is straight out in front of you, the sword in the other, behind you. It looks really stupid to be honest.
When it comes to firing the gun, the animation is the same for each gun. Basically your person is just holding his arm out the whole time, when you fire, a small mussel flash appears at the end of the gun until you release the mouse button. Nothing fancy. When turning around, The feet don't move at all. Your person just rotates around.
Kind of like he/she's on one of those rotating dishes in the microwave... The diving/dodging is really odd too. when you tap any direction twice, you dive/dodge. The person dives extremely far. Unreasonably far.
Dashing with the sword is alright I suppose. There is somewhat of an after image behind the player when you dash. The animation for the after image is noticeably longer from your point of view, versus watching someone dash. Looking completely up, looks as if the player is bent in half backwards.. Like 88 degrees...
Looking completely down, looks like the player has really bad stomach cramps...
Running on walls is odd too. You can only run for a few feet on the wall, then the person just Rolls off... Sideways.. He doesn't jump off or anything.. Just rolls off.. It's weird.
also if you walk up on a wall/pillar, your arm falls into it.  It's sloppy to say the least

Weapon Accuracy: The weapon accuracy is really bad to put it gently. As far as the guns go, it pretty much has to be either in the head or chest to do any damage. Most of the time you can shoot them point blank and it won't do much of anything... When it comes to the sword, the accuracy is horrible. The sword hits you in the legs no matter where you aim and when swinging at a person you could be like 3 feet away Facing Sideways and still hit them....

Controls: The controls are alright. kind of hard to get used to at first (to me) And if you want to use a controller, Well you're SOL because it doesn't work for crap. It does take a while getting used to switching between weapons. More often than not you'll be switching to a grenade or health pack when trying to pull out the gun.

Music/Sounds: The Music and sounds however is possibly the only up side to this game. With somewhat realistic sounds and pretty good music it'll keep your mind occupied during the game.

Game Play: The over all game play is nice and fast paced when your in a server, with at least 6 people in it. Fast enough that you really don't notice the Crappy animations sloppy controls  and awkward graphics. When you're in a game by yourself you start to notice some "off" things. But mostly you'll be too busy worrying about the other person trying to kill you to really bother with the other things.

Major dislikes: Your person is really stock. There are a few customizable options. But if you really want a nice look or gun, you have to pay for it. With real money... and you only get to keep what you buy for like a few weeks to a month. And I don't think any of us will be doing that.

Over all: I give this game a good 3 out of 10
                Controls: 2

Animations: 1
                            Music: 3
                Game Play: 3
Fun Factor: 3 and a half

HALO 3 REVIEW

Halo 3

Bungie’s last stand on the famous/infamous trilogy?

Review by Vinnie.

And there it came from the minds of Bungie, innovative game play, enhanced graphics, better shooting and fewer flaws. You got some things right, but most of which are wrong. For the mean time, I was literally oozing with happiness when I first held the copy of Halo 3 for the first time. I opened it up and put in the 360, the first thing that showed up was the Main theme. It loaded everything was beautiful… Until the mean monster known as sloppy controls reared its ugly head towards the shooting experience, I tell you the graphics were great, the controls… not so much. It didn’t please me. It got me frustrated. So from then on I continued, it was great… until my favorite characters died. Commander Keyes shot down in her beauty by the prophet that was left (it had an effect on me). I have to say, in efforts it would’ve been better, but space zombies? Come on! I know there are some things that can astound the mind, but leave the zombie stuff to Capcom, for Pete’s sake. But anyways to the mind breaking game, the controls for the driving were sloppy, you couldn’t really do much without some of the vehicles exploding. I honestly had trouble with the defending A.I. they could not drive AT ALL. Despite these flaws, it was actually a very good game, not as good as Bioshock mind you, but good enough. The storyline was great and immense; the ending was subtle but made pretty much believe in heroes again. Controls were okay, It probably would have gotten a 10 out of 10 had it not been for the bad driving controls, the sloppy controls, the unintelligent A.I., and well the storyline, I felt was rushed, it was rushed too much. Either way, this game Halo 3 gets 9 out of 10

Controls: 7

Storyline: 9

A.I.: 8

Interest level: 10

Major fun factor: 9

Overall Score: 9 out of 10

Red Steel

Review by The Saint

Synopsis: I'm going to be blunt with this, Red Steel for the Nintendo Wii has some strong points, as well as some strong breaking points.

Music:
The musical scores of this game range from an old school oriental soundtrack, to a new age Techno/Hiphop style. While in some places you may find yourself listening to taiko and djimbe drums in the background to the sound of a mandolin and scitar being strummed lightly, in other areas you'll experience upbeat themes with girls speaking japanese in the background. It's somewhat creepy to say the least, being that some of the scores seem like they came straight from a Kill Bill movie.

Level Design:
Overall the level design is sound. Though, like all shooter games, you'll find yourself going in circles while being attacked by a ninja with an AK47 (wtf...) The gameplay areas span from a date with your fiancee, to a shaolin temple where you learn special movies (as well as fight those crazed ninja shooters), all the way to a casino and a random arena where you have to fight for your life, and talking rabbits. (yet again, wtf.)

Artificial Intelligence:
The AI in this game is pretty good, they at least know when and how to take cover, this makes the AI on halo look stupid. You can be walking down the stairs and a random AI will see you, and run and jump behind some cover, and look around and shoot now if that ain't better than halo i don't know what is. The sword fight AI are somewhat stupid though, they slash randomly, block attacks that will break their sword instead of dodging them, and  on top of that, they sometimes insult you after you disarm them. Stupid.

Gameplay:
Oh my *&!@ing god. This is in every sense of the word, halfway retarded.
Gunfights are pretty good, seeing that after a while you learn a matrix style technique that allows you to stop time and mark spots thats you are going to shoot on various enemies. On top of that you can target their gun and knock it out of their hands and make them get on the ground. Now the bad part about this, is that sometimes the bullet goes straight through the person with no effect at all, so you kind of have a what the h*#! moment wondering how in the world that just happened. Though your gun is interactive with the Wii remote, you can twist your Wii remote and the gun will twist with it, making your look either gangsta, or retarded. You choose. Speaking of you being able to choose something, after going through mind numbing pointless sword fights, in which you can do cool attacks that you will hardly ever pull off because the sword likes to be stupid, you can choose to kill the opponent or let them live. You get respect points if you let them live, and you rank up, which is pointless because rank has nothing to do with the gameplay. You can also get better aiming opportunities by holding the A button and pushing the controller towards the screen, causing it to zoom in to a better ratio. Now the sucky part of gameplay, is that your crosshair is small, jerky, and you absolutely HAVE to know where it is at ALL times, or you may find yourself spinning uncontrollably like a crystal meth abuser. The most annoying thing is that if you walk towards a wall, the wall seemingly grows huge, while your player stays the same size. You can walk to a filing cabinet, and when you're right on it, your hand AND your gun, be it whatever size, will be smaller than a handle on one of the drawers. Which is stupid.

All in all I'd give Red Steel a 7/10

Music: 6
AI: 9
Gameplay: 7
Physics: Stupid.

Iron Man Review

Hello everyone. Kast here. Ok I'm sure you've all seen the Iron Man game advertised on TV right?

A lot of people are saying it's bad, including X-Play but read this review and decide for yourself.

First things first:

If you haven't seen the movie yet, see it first before you get this game.

Ok now on to the review

P.O.V Third

Graphics:

The graphics in this game look really good. I liked them.
If you've got a Hi-Def TV it should look great.

Weapons:

There are a few upgrades you can equip but basically it centers around missiles and lasers and the Uni Beam.
The Uni Beam is pretty fun but it does have a bit of a down fall..
You have to charge the beam for a second before you can fire it,
if you get hit by anything while you're charging which 9 times out of 10 you will
you have to start charging all over again.
There is an Auto target feature that locks on to nearest enemies that comes in handy
but the Uni Beam doesn't lock on so you have to center your cross hair on your target
with the right analog stick.

There are a few suits to unlock too.
From the Classic  armor from the Comics and Cartoons to:
Silver Centurion Armor
Extremis

The Mark II
and the
Hulkbuster armor.
You unlock these by playing through the "One Man Army" missions
To use them in the Mission Archive you have to beat the game.

Animations:
The animations in this game are good too. They're not as bad as "GunZ" but to be honest
most of the time in this game you're gonna be in the air raining hell on the enemies than you'll be on the ground
to even notice.

Controls:
The controls in this game are alright. The only gripe I really have is the flight controls are a little strange
at first. They take some time to get used to. Just repeat a mission a couple times and you'll be flying around just like
Tony Stark in no time. But when I first started playing it a while for me to get the hang of it.
The flight controls are mapped to the left Trigger and bumper.  Movement is the left analog stick
Pull the trigger half way to hover and fully to gain altitude,
use the bumper to begin flight, hold A to use your Thrusters and
tap A while turning to do a barrel roll.
That's not necessarily bad but you hand does get overwhelmed at times.
You can also route your power supply to either your Life Support, Thrusters, Melee, or Weapon Systems
with the + control pad.

Game Play:

The game play here is basically for me at least flying around and raining missiles down on opponents.
if you do land you can grapple opponents by holding the B button and punch by tapping B
Basically, when you grapple say a Helicopter you get a button prompt to tap B
and you rip the tail boom off the chopper..
If you grapple a soldier you can throw them which was funny to me.
Tap B to punch.
You can also catch missiles that tanks fire this requires pretty precise timing, and is kind of difficult
so you'll find  yourself not using that very much, it's easier to just press X and use your flairs for the
homing missiles and just dodge the rest, it's not too hard.
The game play time wise is actually pretty short, clocking in around maybe 6/7 hours. You could beat it easily in a day.
A big plus for me was using the actors from the movie in the game, I really like that.

A.I

The A.I in this game is pretty much exactly the same for each enemy. Even for Iron Monger at the end.
Which was disappointing. You also find yourself facing the same helicopters, fighter jets, tanks, and soldiers
in like every level.. but I find it fun still to see them explode..
You also get bombarded by ten thousand missiles whenever your in the air, so you're gonna make good friends with the X button.
I've found that a clockwise circle around your opponents on the ground keeps you from getting hit so much.
For the jets, Just shoot them down.. Simple enough..

Music

The music in Iron Man is instrumental orchestra sort of.
But to be completely honest, I don't think your even going to notice it when your fighting.

Bottom line for Iron Man the game.

This game is not bad like people are saying, it's just short.. If you're a fan of the movie,
Go ahead and get the game. But like I said at the beginning of this review
See the movie before you get the game.

Over all I'd give Iron Man the official video game
a solid 6 out of 10
